Let's say I wanted to run for public office, and because I presumably want a chance of winning, I decide to run as a member of one of the two major parties, would I be allowed to run as a Republican, or would my heterosexuality get in the way?
First of all, this is totally hypothetical, secondly, I could always claim to have "seen the light". Do you really think that sexual orientation is easier to fake that religious conviction? I mean, plenty of people fake both.
Well, let's examine the converse: You could never run as a Democrat because you work productively and out-earn a dirt-alley hippie without feeling any peculiar obligation to give your excess funds to that same hippie. (shrug) :)
